My 4 1/2 yr. old is enjoying this toy. : Get Ready to Read Activity System
We received this toy for Christmas this year and my son really enjoys it. I, on the other hand, have to agree with the other reviewers on a few points.
Mouse: Good idea, but the fact that they have to click right on the star for it to count, is a bit annoying. After about 3 uses, my son was used to this and it is no longer an issue. I do like that it helps to reinforce the use of a mouse, because lets face it, our kids will grow up using computers as often as we used pencils.
Books: I was impressed that it came with three books with varying levels of learning. You can click on the pictures or letters and it will tell you what they are, or have you match words to letter, or you have the option of doing a quiz.
Volume: This toy has two volume levels, which I think should be standard on all toys! The low volume level is perfect on this toy.
So, all in all, this toy is pretty good. We have the leapster and if I had to choose between the two, I would choose the leapster, but I am glad that we have it for the variety. Anytime my child is picking up an educational toy on his own, I am happy!
